Mommy Time

My Mommy time started Friday night by going out to coffee with a friend.  It was a great time to connect with someone in person and not have kids in tow.

Saturday my sister came over with her 3 kids and stayed all afternoon.  While we were talking she shared how much she had to do and how tired she was.
That was it.  I suggested a last minute sleepover and she didn’t hesitate at all.  5pm she was on the way out the door to go clean and have some mommy time.

Today I had a friend do the same for me.  I dropped my kids off at her house this morning and she wore them out into the afternoon.  I spent the day cleaning (only after trying to decide which of the 50 things I wanted to do on my list.)  It may not sound fun, but it was.  I was able to run from one room to the next like a whirlwind and take care of the little messes that accumulate.  Lighting candles and mopping.  (Thank you for sacrificing your time!)

Have you had some time lately to connect with someone or do what you want?  Maybe you could give someone a break and watch their kids so they can do the same.

If you had an afternoon to yourself what’s the 1st thing you would do?

  1. If I had an afternoon to myself, I would probably try to sleep – though knowing me, I would feel guilty for not doing something more “productive”, like cleaning – so I’d get up and do that instead:)
