Glossary

The teacher in me comes out when I think about what to me may be basic while to others it's a foreign language.  What are the words that I use in my blog and shop that may only seem basic to me because I am in "this little social, crafty world"....

Serged/Overlocked Seams - 

When I say that my seams are serged/overlocked it means that I use a machine that cuts the edges off of the fabric and 4 threads criss cross to prevent fraying.  You can also see the straight stitch that is there too....

My pillows are all serged/overlocked and have a hidden zipper in the back for a professional look and finish.  

PayPal - this is how I take payment.  It is a simple process.  Just fill your cart full of Geeky & Sassy items and then go to checkout on etsy.  From there you will confirm your order and then be asked to pay through PayPal.  Click the link and either sign in or sign up.  Questions on PayPal?  Here's a link to their site on how it works.

Etsy - It's an online marketplace that sells handmade and vintage items, allowing people like me to set up an online shop!

Follow - This is using Google/Blogger profile and allows you to "follow" blogs and keep up with their new posts without always having to check back.

Facebook - Why follow?  I post when I'm listing a number of items, discount codes and links to my blog I think may interest you.  I won't fill your Facebook feed, I promise ;-)

Twitter - If you wanna see what I'm crushing on in the handmade world, see a few pics of my creations in progress, follow useful links and catch a few ramblings, follow me.  

Pinterest - Basically it's an inspiration board made up of photos from all over the world on the internet.  See my style, and if you join in, share your own!  

RSS - This dumps my blog posts directly into your email whenever I post.  You can also get an RSS feed on my etsy shop.  Know when something's new, right away!  I just ask that you leave a comment and let me know you'r out there.  It can get lonely because if you don't officially click on my blog, I don't know you're out there reading from your email.  

Leave a Comment - (at the end of a blog post). You don't have to login to anything.  Just leave a comment if you'd like =)   If you do have a blogger profile and you're not blocking, I'll get a message in my email and will email you back!
