Ok, so I know I'm 5 days late on my Nehemiah post. That's because I didn't finish reading it until 2 days ago. Hey, we're all human. I figure I may not be the only one =) I have posted a few things and challenges on my blog for the past few months, but have honed in on what I'd like to do with some of you.....
At the beginning of the month I will share:
- what book of the Bible I would like to read that month.
- what verse(s) I would like to have memorized by the end of the month. (I have mentioned before that I do this with a group of women locally, so these will be the same verses as I choose for that.)
If you're joining along, leave a comment! Let me know what verse you're memorizing or if it's the same one I chose! If you have a blog, leave your link to your posts on this too! (Would bloggers be interested in a linky at the beginning of the month? Re-thinking the Illuminate Linkup - to monthly!)
Here are a few thoughts that I have from Nehemiah....
- Nehemiah moved forward on what God was telling him to do - without fear.
- Nehemiah refused to be distracted or discouraged.
- Nehemiah led the others with God's wisdom and humility against the world's opinions.
- Everyone worked together to do this great work.
- It wasn't about 1 person or family, but everyone doing their part.
- The people repented (asked forgiveness and turned from their screw-ups and moved forward - making life changes to follow God.
The next book I'd like to read by November 1 is Proverbs - that makes 1 chapter a day.
The verses I will be working on memorizing are:
Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord, be of courage and He shall strengthen your heart.
What have you learned? Are you joining in? If you miss a month, jump back in the next. Hope you're having a great day!

I'm in! This is such a wonderful idea and I am really really excited. I'd just love to discuss more about what we learn :)
I'm in, too!
Hi there! I am friends with Frances and she posted this on her facebook status. Since then I saved it and have actually come back! (which is a surprise with my current schedule :) ). So I would love to join you ladies, thank you for doing this! ~Trish

Thanks for takin' a minute and sharing. I like hearing what you have to say! I love to email back, but some of you are "no-reply bloggers" - so sorry if I can't email back! If you haven't heard back from me or others, check in your settings to see if you need to change it! Have a great day!
