Randomness About V - things you never needed to know

Beth from Dot in the City tagged me a few weeks ago, to share a few random things with you (after sharing her own here.)

11 RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME:

  1. I do not like theme park rides (unless it’s Disney World) and neither does my husband.
  2. I can throw together a mean soup, but can’t bake anything worthy of serving guests.
  3. I want to raise chickens for eggs in my backyard.
  4. I’d rather squat in the woods than use a port-a-potty.
  5. My hair is naturally curly, but it costs too much $ for the products to keep it from frizzing all day so I blow it out straight.
  6. I love to have rooms repainted in my house. It’s the cheapest thing with the biggest impact to change.
  7. I never use a dish cloth twice without washing.
  8. I used to run long distances - and hope to get back to it soon. Really soon as I told my sister I would do a run with her this summer to support autism research.
  9. I grind my teeth when I sleep.
  10. I’m in the middle of reading about 8 books. I don’t read cover to cover. I have them placed around the house, so my daily reading choice may be based on what chair I’m sitting in.
  11. I have been ice-climbing with my husband. He guides trips every winter and I got to go a few years ago. I’m not a good climber, but loved the snow-shoeing.

QUESTIONS:

1. What did you have for breakfast this morning?
Decaf coffee and a banana pancake. Have I mentioned what a great breakfast cook my husband is?

2. Would you rather stay up late or wake up early?
Wake up early….some days neither.

3. If you had to suddenly leave your house and only take three items with you, what would they be?
My Bilingual Bible, baby books and journals. (Hey, they’re stacked together, so it’s more like 3 general groupings, right?

4. What was your favorite thing to do as a child?
Riding bikes to the local drug store to get cherry phosphates with my sisters.

5. How do you see your life in five years?
I have no idea - is that exciting or what! I’m excited to be blogging and raising my kids. We’ll see where God takes me next.

6. Where is your favorite place in the world?
Barcelona, Spain.

7. Would you rather be spontaneous, or do you like to have a plan?
I used to see myself as spontaneous, but I have to admit now that I’m married with kids I’m a big planner.

8. What is your all time favorite song that you would never get tired of listening to?
Born Again, by Third Day.

9. Chocolate or vanilla?
Chocolate.

  2. Roberta . says:

One random thing about me is I am terrified of driving since my accident in 2009. I’m slowly getting back in the groove of it, though.

    PS.
I’m thinking about doing The Color Run in July. Only because it’s not really about speed, just having fun! I’m really excited.

  3. melissa says:

I’m with you on the book thing. Lots of stacks around the house. It keeps things interesting to bounce around. Currently reading grace based parenting and playful learning and a couple others:)

  4. Julie says:

If you decide to go for the chickens, I’d buy eggs from you!

  5. deborah says:

I always wanted curly hair…my hair is straight and thin and never has enough body to suit me!!

Another random thing…I almost always order chicken over beef at a restaurant.

  6. Alia says:

I wish we could have chickens. We can’t in our home because we rent. And I’m totally with you on the books everywhere. I am currently in the middle of at least half a dozen.
Random thing: I get anxiety attacks when I have to cut a birthday cake or gather everyone to sing. I have to have a designated cake cutter for my kids birthday parties.

    • Glad I’m not the only one with book issues ;) My Mom used to have us cut our own cake when we were little - we got to pick the piece we wanted. It’s a little stressful with everyone watching and listening for the tune!

  7. I love your facts and learning more about you…it only makes me wish we lived closer b/c I can relate to so many! I thought I was doing good when I wash discloths daily and take a lot of crap from my husband b/c I make him use a new one. ha!
