My Hometown

I’m part of a community of women of Influence and today we’re sharing where we are from. I am from the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. It is a beautiful place to grow up and raise a family. I am often spoiled by the summers, but it’s never too crowded as no one wants to handle the long winters. If you ever came to visit, I’d take you to the famous Bernie O’s Pizza for the twist. Things I’ve Learned or have been Reminded of in the Past 3 Months… (& winner announced).

God is patient. God has a plan, I have no idea what it is, and it drives me nuts and gives me peace at the same time. When I don’t write here for awhile, I miss all of you and the community you bring to my life. I love to write and I miss it. I enjoy central air in Michigan. I used to giggle at it since we only have 3 months of summer, but I “get it” now. {Read More}

Pink Sparkles, a Book and Jesus?

Yep, I’m serious. I’m coming back from my writing break with a cute book to share with you that has sparkles and Jesus. Tommy Nelson has published another cute book….   It’s geared for girls ages 2 - 5 years old. I think it’s a great book to buy for them when they are on the younger side with the short, simple phrases. My daughter loves to open the mail, and honestly, so do I when I see it’s another {Read More}

A Few More Weeks…

A few more weeks and life will be a little more normal around here. I do have a lovely friend working on a marriage series this year and I signed up to be a part of it. In the {Read More}

A Big Surprise for our Family…

Just in case a gluten-free diet, an awesome new job, 3 master’s classes, 2 wonderful kids and an amazing husband wasn’t enough… Show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life. Psalm 143:8

New Year, Big Changes

I have been silent due to a lot of things going on in my heart and life. I apologize for not letting you know in a short note, but not for the time I took. I try to be transparent on here because I believe that’s what I am to be. My husband has been supportive and encouraging in my writing ventures. I often asked him if subjects were ok to share with all of you and he always responded {Read More}

2012 Wrap Up

This year brought joy, pain and growth. I am grateful for each of you. Your emails, comments, likes, shares and private messages let me know that I’m not writing in vain. It is my desire for Geeky & Sassy to be a place of faith, growth, encouragement, and fun. Two years ago I would never have imagined that I would have shared so much with you around the world. Through these years God has woven His Truths through the words {Read More}

Snapshots of Christmas

This month has brought healing, anxiety, peace and surprises. With all of the emotions and feelings flying around I clung to the birth of Jesus. The birth of our Savior, My Savior. The One who I would not make it through the day without. Reminders of His sacrifice for me greets me around every turn in my house. I wait until New Years Eve to take down the decorations. Here are a few images of the past week…. & the {Read More}

Removable Chalkboard in Your Kitchen ~ A little DIY for under $12

Line up the manufacturer’s clean edge with one side of cupboard. Mark top, bottom and opposite side. {Read More}
