Thanksgiving Naps

Every Thanksgiving since I can remember I have gone to my Mother’s house. We eat dinner and struggle to get the kids to take a nap. We’re all exhausted from cooking and doing dishes and the excitement of the holiday parade. While the guys nap, the girls look through the ads and plan out the “attack” on Friday morning. Last year the kids didn’t cooperate.
This year it will be different. I hope.
We’re doing Thanksgiving at my house - just my my Mom, her husband and my family. A small gathering (as my sisters are all going to their in-law’s homes). It was our joke this year - who is going to sacrifice their naptime - “Papa Jeff” or the kids. The kids won.
Naptimes will be in their beds!! Of course we do have a very cozy couch for “Papa Jeff” and he will still get a nap ;)

Hosting Thanksgiving for the first time makes me a bit nervous with the recipes. I know it’s just my mom and her husband, but what daughter doesn’t want to host a fantastic, comfortable meal for her mom?
I have my standard garlic/cheesy mashed potatoes and my green beans with slivered almonds, but what else? Maybe I’ll try a few new recipes. Do you have any for me? Help me out (pretty please!) & leave a link to a favorite recipe of yours that I may like!

Oh, yes, the Thanksgiving meal planning. My husband and MIL normally plot out the whole meal while I just stand there getting hungry. If cooking the meal were up to me, we would probably end up with mash potatoes out of the box…ha! Good luck with your dinner! Stopping by from Gussy. :)
