Hi, my name is Jadyn. You can find me at Dutch.British.Love blogging about interior inspiration, my own home improvement projects and the odd inspirational quote in there. I believe very much in personal style and that no matter what budget, we can all have a home that is beautiful, that reflects who we are. Most importantly, a home should allow us to celebrate ourselves, our families and our lives as they are. It starts by owning who you & your family are and not being afraid to take chances in life and home decor.
So, I thought for today’s trend, I could talk about a trend that’s a bit abstract perhaps: Eclectic Interiors.
Style is so personal, yet it can feel scary to do something that’s a bit out of the box. If you look at all the amazing blogs out there, it may seem like we’ve all conquered those fears, but in all honesty, it doesn’t come easily for all of us.
Here are some rooms that display a style that feel very personal to the owners. Don’t you think they look incredibly welcoming?
I love the combination of the zebra rug, union jack pillow, and floral patterns in the room. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I think it looks at least like the person who lives there really loves their home and is not afraid to play with pattern!
You may notice that I am partial to the Union Jack design. The British part in my blog name? It’s my husband who, even though we live in Canada, still has a pretty strong British accent. I think this room is a great example of how traditional and modern elements can play nicely together.
This room gives a sense of things having been collected over time. The stripes read very modern, but the chair and the built-ins add classic style, a great combination in my books.
I hope you feel perhaps a bit inspired to think about what you really love in your home and whether you’d like to introduce some elements that not everyone may love, but that will make you smile as you come through the door!
Thanks so much, Virginia, for inspiring me and others with your blog, for all the helpful info your share as well as the beautiful things you create in your shop! They are sure to add a personal tough to the homes of the people they end up with!
Thanks for having me at Geeky & Sassy!
