This summer we’ve been finding a few new vintage items to add to our home. The first I have to share is this typewriter. I fell in love with an $80 one at a local second hand store. Sadly, it stayed there. A few days later my husband knew what he had found when he was at an estate sale in our neighborhood. $3 and he brought home a huge surprise for me!
On the way to the beach on our vacation my husband and I both saw this couch driving by. Without hesitation we turned around and bought it for $20. It had been in storage for years and has 8 pillow covers (I ditched the inserts) and needed a bit of wood repair. Thank goodness Paul used to own a furniture restoration business. What a deal!
Look at this beauty my man picked out as well. He has a great eye!
Our mid-century modern couch reupholstery progress is at a standstill by choice. We just need to add the buttons, but now that we’ve put it in the living room we’ve moved on to new projects.
& to leave you with a little teaser, we put an antique tub in our backyard. Here’s a picture of the beginning of the progress. Antique bricks from our old downtown….
Are you a garage sale or an estate sale shopper?
I am so excited for you! Those are amazing finds!!!
Thanks! Hopefully we can thrift & sale together someday!
I can’t wait to see more of the bathtub!
I just need to get my husband to take down the gigantic tent that is right in the background now
I didn’t take pictures when we finished. Now there will be dead grass in the background, ha ha!
I’ve been dying to see what the bathtub will become! Great finds…that couch is so amazing
Thanks Beth! I just have to take some pictures. & don’t tell but Micah just got red crayon on the upholstery so now I’m frantically trying to find a solution before my husband is heartbroken ;S
Enviro cloth for the crayon
