I’m a bit behind in starting Nehemiah for this month’s Illuminate Challenge. I read chapter 1 today and it made me compare myself to Nehemiah being in a “comfortable” place and hearing of what is happening in another part of the world to God’s people broke his heart. He cried out. He prayed.
Today is the 1st day of our stay-cation. We have a bunch of things planned. In the quiet moments I want to get back to writing and sharing our lives a bit more with you. With that, here’s part 1 of our last few weeks with a little prayer.
I hope that in the moments when your kids are too quiet and you walk in and find them in the midst of a coconut powder fight….
When you look at your youngest and get a glimpse of what he may look like 15 years from now….
The hours between dinner and bedtime on busy summer days….
When you play dress up with your son and put him in vintage outfits you’ve found at garage sales….
When you dance in the rain….
And when you relax poolside with your baby and pudding….
You may be full of Joy!
Psalm 118:24 - “This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
What moments are you finding joy in today?
P.S. I’m over at Inspired by Family Magazine today sharing a few tips on beginning to sew!
Love all of your pictures! Your children are adorable
Today I am finding joy in watching Noah always wanting to take care of his little brother. He is the sweetest boy ever. Also, finding joy in improving test grades for my medical terminology class. It’s slowly getting higher and higher!
Hope you’re having a great day!
So sweet that he wants to help! I’m glad that your class is going better as well. What great things to celebrate! I saw your color run pictures - that looks fun. Is that every year?
It was so much fun! The Color Run just started this year in Arizona and they visit all cities around the U.S. There is one planned for August of next year in Grand Rapids
My sweet joy moments are in the silly and the quiet, the long summer days are challenging and stretching me, but then come mid morning snuggles and the goofiness of shoe shopping w my 18 month old.
That poolside pudding pic made me LOL
I’m with you on the long sunlight hours
Snuggles are the best! Does your little one like to shop? =)
Well normally I wouldn’t say so but today he picked out a pair of red sneakers and I had him try them on, dragging one behind him because they were tied together, and then he promptly put them in the cart and said “Red! Yes!!” It made me smile and made a memory.
yes to all of this. full of joy! sometimes it’s hard to feel joyful in those witching hours 5p-7p at our house. but i’m finding it is all in my attitude. all in my responses. when i CHOOSE to be joyful…the whole house is less frustrated. thank you for this reminder to CHOOSE JOY today:))
hugs!
